Done with BookFace.

I am done with FaceBook.   What once was an amazing way to maintain a social connection with those I had moved too far away from, has now become not much more than content regurgitation.  It has become something that is actually worse than the listmania/content aggregation that the rest of the web is quickly falling into that I can just no longer participate.  It seems like virtually every site now (even “reputable” news sites!) has a link to “like this on facebook”, right next to the seven other slightly-different-yet-still-mostly-identical social media site links.  And every day my browser becomes a little more clogged with these “social” scripts.  I can’t handle it!

Now, dear friends and family, I will hand over the keys to Ugly Gold Couch.  She will allow you to sit upon her as you regale us with stories of what you are doing, where you have been and photos of what you have done.  However absolutely, under no circumstances, will she accept regurgitated content!   There will be no “sharing”, no “liking”, and no ads!  If you didn’t personally create it or see it first hand then it belongs on BookFace…. not on my glorious couch.
