Our outdoor section of the chicken coop collapsed this weekend in a storm, and we had to let all the farm critters roam as we worked on fixing it. Mike picked up our biggest Tom turkey that I call Tommy Tommerson. Tommy is a Narragansett turkey and has grown quickly to nearly 20 pounds at 4 months old. He seems to be very healthy, happy and friendly so we are hoping that he will breed with our female “Reverse” so that we can have some baby Narragansetts this spring.
In the background of this photo you can see “Right Foot”, our male Bourben Red Turkey. Right Foot will not be with us much longer. When Mike’s mom visits in less than two weeks, we plan on cooking a delicious turkey dinner!

Right foot has no idea of his fate. Look at him strutting around!
I know!!! Poor guy, I almost feel sorry for him.
I feel sorry for him … Maybe we should have a ham sandwich? Those are some good looking turkeys!
How can we have a ham sandwich?? We haven’t raised pigs yet!!!
